Fedegari Technology Center Brussels: where sterile process knowledge becomes shared evidence

On May 28, 2026 Fedegari opened the doors of its new Fedegari Technology Center in Brussels with an event dedicated to one central question: how can sterile process knowledge become a strategic capability for pharmaceutical manufacturing?

The Grand Opening was not conceived as a simple inauguration. It was designed as a working moment for the sterilization community: a space where customer experiences, technical perspectives and direct observation could converge around the same objective, understanding how process evidence can support better industrial decisions.

Sterile process development becomes valuable when knowledge can be tested, challenged and translated into operational improvement. This is the role of Fedegari Technology Centers: environments where expertise, applied testing and lifecycle support converge to strengthen process continuity, operational robustness and sustainable performance.

The event opened at Erasmus Valley with a welcome speech by our President, Giuseppe Fedegari, followed by case studies and an expert roundtable. Through the Fedegari and Gerresheimer experiences, participants explored how Tech Center capabilities can generate measurable value in real projects: from process understanding and cycle development to its optimization, validation and improvement. These sessions showed how testing outside production can reduce uncertainty, support risk mitigation and accelerate decisions without interrupting active manufacturing environments.

The discussion then moved into the broader project lifecycle. The roundtable brought together Pierre Winnepenninckx, Fedegari; Etienne Durant, EDUConsulting; Shanshan Liu, ISPE; and Jos Vanherk, Pfizer, to navigate the different moments in which process knowledge becomes decisive: early-phase execution risks, standardization, out-of-place activities and continuous improvement in active plants. The perspective was clear: a sterile process cannot be improved only when it reaches production. It must be understood earlier, challenged under controlled conditions and supported across its lifecycle.

The guided tour of the new Fedegari Tech Center transformed this discussion into direct experience. Inside the new spaces, participants could observe how Living Knowledge becomes concrete: not only as expertise shared between specialists, but as knowledge applied to processes, technologies, testing conditions and customer-specific challenges.

This is what makes a Tech Center more than a technical facility. It is a place where assumptions can be verified before they become constraints. Where process behaviour can be observed before decisions are fixed. Where training, cycle development, process optimization, compliance, safety and sustainability become connected parts of the same industrial responsibility.

For Fedegari, the Brussels Tech Center strengthens a global network built to bring process knowledge closer to customers. It extends the role of Technology Centers as operational expressions of Living Knowledge: environments where knowledge is continuously generated, shared and transformed into value for sterile manufacturing.

Opening a Tech Center means opening a conversation: on how to reduce operational risk, improve process reliability, make cycle development more effective, support continuous improvement without unnecessary disruption, and turn sterile process expertise into decisions that are more robust, more informed and more useful for the business.

With this event, Fedegari invited customers, partners and experts to experience this approach in practice. The result was not only an event, but a shared view of what process knowledge can become when it is made visible, tested and applied.

In sterile manufacturing, knowledge creates value when it moves from theory to evidence. Evidence becomes strategic when it helps customers make better decisions across the entire lifecycle.

The journey continues across Fedegari Tech Centers

The Fedegari Tech Center in Brussels is one step in a wider Technology Center journey. In the coming months, new moments of exchange will continue across Fedegari Tech Centers worldwide, bringing customers and specialists closer to the methodologies, evidence and process knowledge that shape sterile manufacturing.
