Fedegari Academy – Alternanza Scuola-Lavoro – is promoted by Confindustria Pavia in collaboration with Istituto Tecnico Industriale Statale G. Cardano of Pavia
“It is crucial to address the demand of the companies for professionally prepared young personnel”, stated Nicola de Cardenas.”With this initiative we want to give them the opportunity to build a professional future here, in our territory”, completed Paolo Fedegari.
On the Morning of May 14th 2019, Confindustria Pavia, The Cardano Institute and Fedegari Group signed the agreement launching the project. It contemplates the promotion of growth paths for the development of transversal skills and guidance. ITIS Cardano is promoting this goal through the recommendation of eight students to Fedegari chosen among the most motivated ones. This indication allowed the young talents to enter immediately the world of work once they conclude their studies at the Institute.
On the other hand, the Fedegari Academy project provided to the students a training course in the areas of “welding” and “mechanical design”. Confindustria Pavia, represented by its reference officer Fabio Fugazza, coordinates the activities and released a certificate of the acquired transversal skills.
“The project is fundamental to enrich the path of young people who want to face the labour market with appropriate preparation and tools. Fedegari is a leading manufacturer of machines and systems for the pharma industry in our territory, with a strong attitude to internationalization and digitization. Our ultimate goal is to engage other member companies to improve the relationship between education and business”, explains Nicola de Cardenas, President of Confindustria Pavia.
Paolo Fedegari wishes this initiative could be an example for other companies in the Province and expects the project to impact positively the entire production system. “Companies in Pavia are looking for prepared young people and are pleased to contribute to the construction of their professional future. Training people means creating a system in which new generations could be motivated and valued. This is part of the recovery process on competitiveness, necessary to our ecosystem”, said Fedegari.
One of Fedegari strategic goals is to create knowledge and transfer the company know-how to future generations. This project will contribute not only to the growth of our company, but also to the participants and to our region. Fedegari and SolidWorld provided this group with training courses following the activities of staff, specifically in the “welding” and “mechanical design” areas.
Last July 11th, the eight students concluded the first part of the training course at Fedegari Academy organized in collaboration with Confindustria Pavia. They presented the pressure vessels entirely designed, manufactured and inspected by themselves in Fedegari headquarters. A great experience to be continued after summer.
“Students had the opportunity to experience the working environment through this important project” stated Giancarla Gatti Comini, School Principal, supported by Elio Guastalli, tutor in charge of the project. “In addition, during the project, our young talents were able to discover the value of theoretical knowledge acquired so far in class. This practical course motivates students and encourages them to continue studying”, concluded Comini.
“Training is one of the pillars for the growth and development of our territory. The opportunity to collaborate as a technical partner with Confindustria and ITIS Cardano, creating value for the community of Pavia, makes us proud,” said Paolo Fedegari, CEO of Fedegari Group.
“Investing in this relationship is fundamental for those who, like us, believe in the importance of training young people. The agreement signed goes in this direction: a new concept of collaboration to actively contribute to the growth of our resources. We hope this project will inspire many entrepreneurs to believe in the strength of our young people to build the future” added Fedegari.
